Muddy Boots Portugal
Route 12
Travelling North to South through central Portugal and back up the Atlantic Coast
The track loosely follows the famous N2 but with an offroad twist. Its scenic route stretches from Chaves in the north to Faro in the Algarve, offering a unique glimpse into the heart of Portugal.
With its diverse landscapes, charming villages, and rich cultural heritage, the track passes through 35 municipalities including vineyards in the Douro Valley, the mountainous regions of Trás-os-Montes, and the rolling hills of Alentejo.
After a recovery day in the Algarve, we’ll continue across to the sandy tracks of the Atlantic Coast where we will start heading North.
Time dependent there may be an opportunity to take in more of Portugal’s historic monuments and tracks while heading home towards the Ferry.
Adventure isn’t just waiting—it’s calling. Answer it!
This is not a race it’s an adventure and a holiday.
This track has been fully scouted and is suitable for all levels crossing mountains, rivers, old ancient roman bridges, boulder fields, sandy tracks, faster gravel roads and twisty tarmac roads.
There will be plenty of photo opportunities, time for a swim in the lakes and to sample some Portuguese cuisine and culture.
